Fair operating practices ensure that integrity and honesty govern relations between the company and its stakeholders, in particular its customers and competitors.

Combating corruption

These practices form an essential component of the CSR policy. They cover a wide range of activities, including the fight against corruption, a commitment to responsible policies, communication and fair competition, the promotion of societal responsibility in the value chain (with suppliers and subcontractors), the security of customer and employee data, market integrity and the fight against money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud.

Crédit Mutuel complies to the letter with anti-corruption regulations, in particular the so-called “Sapin II law”1, which came into force on June 1, 2017.

The group's various financial security systems, whether implemented in the context of operations, internal control or reporting to governance, are designed to contribute effectively to:

  • the fight against money launderin
  • the prevention of fraud and tax evasion
  • the prevention of terrorist financing
  • as well as compliance with financial, economic and trade sanctions.

The group systematically applies strict onboarding rules in full compliance with the relevant anti-money laundering and terrorist financing legislation. Moreover, the authorities regularly check the procedures that it puts in place and the associated results.

Duty of care

In accordance with the law on the duty of care3 of parent companies and subcontracting firms, the Crédit Mutuel group attaches particular importance to selecting the suppliers with whom it maintains commercial relations.

Personal data protection

The Crédit Mutuel group takes care to protect the interests of its customers and members, and therefore ensures ongoing supervision of its compliance with the applicable regulations on protecting personal data. Since the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), numerous projects, procedures (confidentiality policies, monitoring of CNIL complaints, etc.) and employee training courses have been rolled out within the group to ensure compliance with the principles it enshrines, as regards both relations within the group and relations with members, customers and business partners. In 2021, 79% of the employees concerned received training on the subject of personal data protection.
