Confédération Nationale du Crédit Mutuel (CNCM)

Confédération Nationale du Crédit Mutuel (CNCM) is the group's central body. Its members include the 18 regional federations, plus a national federation specifically for farming (Crédit Mutuel Agricole et Rural – CMAR).

Like the federations, CNCM has a national financing organization, the central financing bank, whose equity capital is owned by all the federal and interfederal banks.

CNCM is a professional representative body that supervises and represents Crédit Mutuel and ensures its financial solidarity at the national level.

The federal banks

The financial lifeblood of the regional federations, the federal banks pool their financial resources and are responsible for:

• organizing technical and financial operations in the regions,
• managing resources (liquidity management, provision of financial, technical and IT services),
• granting loans to local administrations.

To achieve synergies and streamline resources and costs, some federations have joined forces to form inter-regional federal banks under technical, IT and financial partnerships.

There were four Crédit Mutuel inter-regional federal banks since January 1, 2022.

The Crédit Mutuel federations

The federations are professional representative bodies that are present throughout France.

The federation is a collective of all the Crédit Mutuel local banks in its region. It organizes the representation and oversight of these affiliated local banks. Crédit Mutuel local banks must be members of a federation.
